On November 26, 1922, Howard Carter chipped a hole in a sealed doorway, held up a candle, and waited for his eyes to adjust. Behind him, Lord Carnarvon asked if he could see anything. “Yes, wonderful things.”

Now your students can take the same walk: down sixteen steps, through a robber’s tunnel, past two black-and-gold guardians, and into the only painted room in the tomb. Every stop has a question. Get it right and your torch stays lit. Miss it and the tomb goes a little darker.
Eight stops. Eight torches. How many can your class keep burning?
